Gordon Kamisar is a Seattle-based attorney who has recruited and placed numerous fellow attorneys (and other executives and professionals) locally, nationally and internationally over the past 30 years. His placements have included attorneys at corporations ranging in size from start-ups to the Fortune 100. His client base also includes numerous law firms of all sizes throughout the nation. He has personally placed well over 400 attorneys in law firms, and also over 100 attorneys in-house with corporations over his long and productive career.
Mr. Kamisar was the first attorney to enter the Pacific Northwest legal search profession. He is a graduate of Duke University Law School and is still currently licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association. He has a B.A degree, With Distinction, in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Before becoming a legal search consultant, he practiced law at two large prominent law firms and two smaller boutique firms, one of which he served on the firm’s Hiring Committee. He started his career as an Associate at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen, one of the largest law firms in San Francisco at the time. (The firm later became Bingham McCutchen, which was then absorbed by Morgan Lewis, one of the world’s largest law firms today.) His biography is included in Who’s Who in American Law (6th edition). Gordon has placed attorneys in virtually every practice area imaginable and at all levels of experience.
In 2017, Gordon became a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) by the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS), the largest and oldest organization of executive recruiters, including legal recruiters, in the United States. Certification is based on meeting peer established criteria, including passing a certification examination.
He is also a longtime Member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC).
