Position Summary

Our client, a premier structural engineering firm specializing in large-scale data centers, commercial, institutional, and aviation projects, is seeking a highly detailed Miscellaneous Steel Checker for their Brentwood, TN office. Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Perform technical reviews of structural and miscellaneous steel shop and erection drawings for accuracy, fit, and completeness.

  • Miscellaneous Focus: Review high-complexity assemblies such as industrial stairs, guardrails, ladders, sump pit frames, and specialized medical/aviation supports.

  • Experience: 6–10 years of professional experience in structural or miscellaneous steel detailing and checking.
  • Software: Proficiency in Tekla Structures (highly preferred) or SDS/2. Proficiency in Bluebeam for redlining and document review.
  • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of AISC standards and OSHA safety requirements for stairs and railings.
  • Background: A strong understanding of the fabrication and erection process; prior "shop floor" or field experience is highly valued.
  • Attention to Detail: An exceptional ability to identify dimensional errors, material discrepancies, and connection conflicts.

Why Join This Team?

  • Unrivaled Benefits: One of the most competitive PTO packages in the industry (3 weeks to start), plus comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Stability & Growth: Join a prominent data center structural engineering firm during a period of significant national expansion.
