Job Description

Senior Engineer, Partner Integration

Hybrid role, 2x a week in office near Denver

About the role

Our client runs a multi-tenant automotive SaaS platform used by 5,000+ dealerships, built on a native AWS stack. The platform connects dealers to the systems they already use: DMS, CRM, digital retail, F&I and lending. More than 40 partner platforms feed or consume our data. You will own that integration layer end to end.

What you’ll do

  • Build and run partner integrations from spec review through production cutover, in Python on AWS (Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Be the technical contact for partner engineering teams: clarify undocumented behavior, negotiate payload changes and drive certification
  • Build ingestion and normalization pipelines for webhook, REST, SOAP and SFTP feeds into a medallion data lake
  • Make integrations resilient to partner outages, schema changes and rate limits (idempotency, backoff, replay, graceful degradation)
  • Secure integrations (webhook signatures, OAuth2/JWT, KMS, Secrets Manager) and validate them with schema checks and contract tests
  • Own monitoring and documentation for each integration (CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, runbooks, mapping specs)

What you bring

  • Strong Python and hands-on AWS serverless experience
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs of varying quality (REST, SOAP, webhooks, file-based)
  • Comfort working directly with external engineering teams and pushing back on bad contracts
  • A production mindset: observability, testing and documentation that outlasts you
  • Automotive, DMS or dealer-software experience is a plus

How we work

We use AI tools like Claude daily, including for generating client code from partner specs, writing tests, diffing spec versions and debugging production logs. We expect you to use them too.
