Head of Supply Chain Operations
Location: Charleston, SC (hybrid) with regular travel to Asia
Reporting into: Chief Executive Officer
Job Summary:
Seeking a Head of Supply Chain Operations to lead the operational backbone of the business as we scale our premium consumer accessories brand globally.
This leader will own how we source, manufacture, plan, deliver, and improve our products across a global supply chain that includes factory partners in China and Vietnam, warehouse partners in the U.S., the Netherlands, and Hong Kong, and commercial channels spanning DTC, Amazon, retail, and international distribution.
The right person is both strategic and deeply hands-on. They can lead an S&OP review with the CEO and leadership team, negotiate directly with supplier principals, walk a factory floor in Asia, solve a fulfillment issue, and bring structure to a lean operating environment without overcomplicating it.
This role is ideal for someone who has operated in a premium consumer products business where quality, speed, cost, and channel execution all matter — and where the answer is not always more headcount, but better process, sharper accountability, and stronger supplier management.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Operating Cadence
Manufacturing, Sourcing & Supplier Performance
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Planning, Inventory & Global Distribution
Cross-Functional Partnership
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, or operations leadership experience in consumer electronics, premium consumer accessories, or comparable consumer products.
- Direct experience managing Asia-based manufacturing partners, ideally in China and/or Vietnam, with confidence engaging factory owners and senior supplier leadership.
- Strong understanding of premium consumer product quality, including materials, finishes, tolerances, packaging, certifications, and channel expectations.
- Demonstrated experience improving sourcing and procurement practices, including supplier scorecards, cost-down programs, should-cost analysis, second-source strategy, supplier consolidation, and supplier agreement negotiation.
- Proven ability to lead both operating cadence and hands-on execution — from S&OP and KPI reviews to quality issues, ramp challenges, freight exceptions, and fulfillment process improvements.
- Experience in a right-sized growth environment, ideally a $50M–$300M consumer products business.
- Multi-warehouse and international logistics experience, including 3PL management across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Working knowledge of customs, import/export, duties, tariffs, and trade compliance.
- Ability to travel internationally, China and Vietnam, with additional to warehouse locations as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree required; APICS/ASCM, CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, or related certification preferred.
