Run materials planning for a major consumer brand — from the factory floor, not a spreadsheet.
We’re hiring a Material Planning Manager for a fast-growing, private equity-backed consumer products company (brands you know, products in most U.S. homes).
This is not a sit-at-HQ planning role.
You’ll be embedded at a key contract manufacturing site in the Chicago area, acting as the on-the-ground owner of materials performance — making sure product gets made, issues get solved, and suppliers stay aligned.
What makes this role different:
- You’re not just planning — you’re driving execution
- You’re working inside a partner facility, not behind the scenes
- You’re influencing outcomes without direct authority
- You’re building process while keeping operations moving
What you’ll do:
- Ensure materials availability to support production and service levels
- Partner with external manufacturers on MRP, inventory, and scheduling
- Drive improvements in OTIF, inventory health, and supplier performance
- Solve issues in real time on the plant floor
- Build structure and process where it doesn’t yet exist
What we’re looking for:
- Background in materials, supply, or production planning
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or external suppliers
- Strong Excel and analytical capability
- Ability to influence, push, and build relationships
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment
This role is high ownership, high visibility, and high pressure. It’s a strong fit for someone who likes being relied on, can operate without perfect structure, and wants to build something — not just maintain it.
Location: Chicago area (Waukegan), hybrid (2–3 days onsite)
Comp: ~$130–150K base + bonus
Travel: Periodic to other manufacturing partners + HQ
If you want a role where your impact is visible every day — let’s talk.
