Your Impact & Responsibilities:
- Lead the production of precise structural steel shop drawings for a diverse portfolio of complex projects.
- Masterfully utilize industry-standard platforms including SDS/2, Tekla, Revit, and AutoCAD to bring designs to life.
- Proactively analyze design changes and seamlessly coordinate structural elements with architects, engineers, and general contractors.
- Spearhead the management of Requests for Information (RFIs) and project criteria, ensuring all project specifications are met.
- Be the go-to expert for field and erection issue troubleshooting, providing critical support to ensure smooth project execution.
- Engage in crucial coordination efforts with joist suppliers, deck suppliers, architects, and mechanical contractors to integrate critical design components.
- Expertly detail a wide array of miscellaneous steel components, such as stairs, handrails, supports, frames, and various access ladders.
- Oversee comprehensive document control, maintaining organized project files, utilizing document management software, and ensuring regulatory compliance and accessibility for the team.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in steel detailing or a related role involving structural or miscellaneous steel drafting.
- Exceptional proficiency in SDS/2, Tekla, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- The ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and contribute proactively to a team environment.
- Experience in coordinating with diverse project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is a plus, or equivalent practical experience. Emphasis/focus on structural/detailing experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements (Standard for role):
- Ability to perform substantial repetitive movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
- Manual dexterity for handling items and working with fingers.
- Clear close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Capable of continuous sitting, standing, walking, using stairs, hearing, talking, bending, crouching, and working closely with others.
- Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force (up to 100 pounds via dolly) to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
