Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and capable Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) year of litigation experience and be ready to take ownership of a full caseload. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of civil litigation matters, with support from experienced colleagues in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation from inception through resolution.
- Draft and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Conduct legal research and draft high-quality legal memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Participate actively in case strategy, development, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to support firm objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of civil litigation experience.
- Proficiency in all phases of litigation, including motion practice and depositions.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a deadline-driven mindset.
- Proven ability to manage a full caseload independently.
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in insurance defense and/or public entity defense.
- Familiarity with federal court procedures.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
