A respected higher education institution in Charleston, South Carolina is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the strategic direction of technology across campus.
This role is ideal for a collaborative IT leader who enjoys partnering with executive leadership to leverage technology as a driver of institutional success.
The CIO will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, helping shape the institution’s technology roadmap while overseeing operations, governance, budgeting, and innovation across the IT function.
- Partner with the President, Cabinet, and institutional leadership to align technology with strategic goals
- Develop and execute a strategic IT roadmap and annual work plan
- Lead IT governance and ensure effective acquisition and use of technology
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology and workflow improvements
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate technology contracts
- Mentor and develop the IT team while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
- Deliver executive-level reporting on IT performance, value creation, and ROI
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, CIS, or related field
- Experience developing IT strategy, tactical plans, and budgets
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate as a strategic partner to executive leadership
- Experience in higher education IT leadership is preferred
