Director of Talent Acquisition
Location: Atlanta, GA (Travel as Needed)
Reports to: Vice President, Human Resources
About the Role
The Director of Talent Acquisition is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for building, scaling, and continuously improving the organization’s recruiting function. This role is critical to aligning talent acquisition strategies with business objectives, ensuring a strong and sustainable talent pipeline, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Director of Talent Acquisition will lead a team of recruiters supporting hiring across 10 states, partner closely with operational and senior leaders, and drive process improvement and digital transformation within recruiting. This position offers a high level of visibility and direct impact on organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of recruiters to ensure consistent, high-quality hiring outcomes
- Partner with hiring managers and senior leadership to understand workforce needs, prioritize critical roles, and support startup and expansion initiatives
- Design and execute comprehensive talent acquisition strategies, including workforce planning, sourcing channels, and employer branding
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for critical roles through proactive sourcing, EMS schools, technical programs, career fairs, referrals, and agency partnerships
- Oversee recruiting vendors and external search firms to ensure performance and ROI
- Lead recruiting process and digital transformation, including ATS optimization, system enhancements, and best-practice interviewing methods
- Personally recruit for key leadership, management, and operations roles as needed
- Track, analyze, and report on key recruiting metrics (time-to-hire, source of hire, cost-per-hire, ROI) to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial recruiting role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Proven success in building and executing recruitment strategies in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong working knowledge of best-practice recruiting methods, employment law, and compliance requirements
- Experience with ATS platforms such as Paycom, UKG, or iCIMS
- Advanced sourcing skills, including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, and proactive outreach
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
- Confident, collaborative leader with experience managing and developing recruiting teams
