Job Summary


The Quality Engineer plays a pivotal part in ensuring customer defined quality requirements are understood and communicated across the organization. Key responsibilities include the development of quality plans from engineering drawings and determining gage and fixture requirements. The position includes using problem-solving tools focusing on process improvements and ensuring compliance with quality requirements.


Essential Functions:


·          Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.

·          Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical or mechanical.

·          Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instruction for recording, evaluation and reporting quality and reliability data.

·          Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

·          Takes part or leads cross functional team nonconformance investigations, ensuring proper containment of product and any escalation for Corrective and Preventive Action, as needed.

·          Develop relationships with customers to understand quality requirements and resolve quality issues.

Required:


·          High School Diploma or equivalent GED

·          4 years of related experience


Preferred:


·          Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

·          10 years of related experience

·          ASQ Certification

·          APICS Certification

·          Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles


Physical Demands:

The Quality Engineer will occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time):


·          Reach by extending hands and arms

·          Have near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less

·          Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus

·          Identify and distinguish colors
