Our client, a fitness and wellness organization, is hiring a full time Facilities Trainer, reporting to the Sr Facilities Manager in the maintenance department to work onsite in the Chicagoland area.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training programs related to facility maintenance, operations, and equipment safety. This role ensures that staff are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is engaging, organized, results-driven, and collaborative, with strong customer service skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communication: Provide updates and progress reports to club and district leadership. Gather feedback on training effectiveness and facility needs.
- Scheduling & Planning: Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to plan, deploy, and follow up on training.
- Special Projects: Support special projects within assigned districts or regions.
- Training Program Development: Create training content tailored to organizational needs.
- Training Delivery: Lead engaging sessions covering facility management, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day evaluations of Maintenance Technicians and assess training program effectiveness.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and progress logs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure training aligns with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Employee Support: Provide ongoing guidance and answer questions related to facility operations.
- Process Improvement: Update training content regularly to reflect changes in procedures or technology.
- Inspections: Test and inspect club equipment and systems for proper functioning.
- Safety Oversight: Perform safety checks, club walks, and communicate findings to leadership.
- Administrative Duties: Enter and update work orders using a CMMS (work order management system).
- Travel: Visit assigned clubs and, on occasion, additional locations across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or GED required
- Experience: Prior experience in facility or fitness operations preferred
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of facility systems, equipment, and safety protocols
- Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office, MaintainX, ASANA, or similar platforms
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Training Design: Ability to create and deliver instructional content for various learning styles
- Problem Solving: Aptitude for identifying training needs and delivering effective solutions
- Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in facility management, safety, or training preferred
PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read and distinguish colors (e.g., for pool testing)
- Proficiency in operating maintenance tools and equipment such as pallet jacks and dollies
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Must be able to travel by car or plane up to 50% of the time
- Work may be performed in environments with loud noise and moving equipment
- Must be available for a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

- Physical stamina and strength to perform job duties in varied environments
- Clear, effective verbal communication—especially for conveying technical instructions

PAY
$33.00 - $36.00 hourly
