As the Director of Advertising Platforms & Business Systems, you will lead a team of platform experts to develop and implement system enhancements to expand the MAP business. You will be responsible for defining the roadmap for our advertising platforms and business systems, articulating ad platform capabilities, and documenting and prioritizing system changes. You will serve as the escalation point for technical issues, provide troubleshooting support, and create detailed documentation and training to support the business.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

•     Define the roadmap for our internal systems inclusive of OMS, CRM and task management platforms. Partner cross-functionally to understand challenges and push for system changes and automation that improve the user experience and reduce manual effort. 

•     Engage stakeholders in Sales, Yield, Media Activation and Ad Strategy, to build an understanding of ad platform capabilities. Gather feedback on platform enhancements and translate enhancements into technical requirements.

•     Support the migration off of legacy ad platforms via technical subject matter expertise. Advocate for the business in technical conversations by translating technical details for business audiences. 

•     Serve as the primary contact for customer success and media activation for technical issues and escalations. Partner with tech teams to resolve campaign problems and discrepancies to reduce impacts to campaigns and revenue.

•     Oversee platform onboarding for external partners to our advertising platforms and develop user access strategies for internal partners for business systems. 

•     Create strong relationships with Sam’s Club technology teams. Partner with product and engineering to prioritize and implement enhancements and to our systems and platforms. 

•     Proactively identify risk associated with platforms and raise awareness to cross functional teams and executive audiences. Provide regular executive updates on critical projects. 

•     Create comprehensive solution design documentation, including user stories and process flows to meet the Product and Engineering teams needs on prioritized initiatives on roadmap. 

•     Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the ad tech space. Recommend and implement new capabilities that add value to the business and foster the growth of our team's capabilities.

•     Serve as a champion for Sam’s Club values. Focus on our associates by promoting professional development, mentoring and support. Drive a performance-based culture. 

 

Qualifications:

1.     A leader in the advertising technology domain with experience helping companies with achieving growth technology.

2.     8+ years of experience in Digital Ad Technology, advertising operations and business systems.

3.     Extensive leadership experience, including leading teams and communicating with impact at the executive level

4.     Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Appian, JIRA, Fattail/AdBook, TradeDesk, Google Ad Manager

5.     Prior experience with large-scale platform migrations and system overhaul. 

6.     Strong communication skills, written and verbal, across all levels of internal stakeholders.

7.     Thrives in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

8.     Project management experience with cross-functional tech and operations teams.

9.     Demonstrates company values and beliefs.

10. Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude.
