We are hiring a Buyer/Planner to join the Procurement Team.
Position Summary
The Buyer/Planner handles the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, and services necessary to meet production demands and customer requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, including forecasting, to ensure timely material procurement while maintaining the supplier relationship.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Monitor and manage the inventory level for East Hazel Crest location, ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
· Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and other important data.
· Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
· Report on purchasing activities and product usage.
· Update PO confirmation when receiving from suppliers.
· Review wire rope activities and ensure inventory accuracy.
· Bi-weekly report for sales team.
· Understand surcharge and update surcharge on timely.
· Forecast and plan for stock products.
· Form close alliances with Operations team members and further collaborate on inventory, shipments, and lots.
· Lead cycle counts and/or annual physical inventory.
Education & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management, any rigging shop or related experience preferred.
· Must have 5+ years of experience in purchasing and planning.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk the shop floor for long periods of time.
· Hands-on role that is 100% on-site.
