We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to play a key role in the financial health of our growing company. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a close-knit team and gain broad exposure to all facets of our operations, from project bidding and job costing to financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and construction industry practices, with a desire to contribute to the efficient management and continued success of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Support accounting management in day-to-day operations.
- Formulate and implement internal controls and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
- Manage and process journal entries.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Review accounting information for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize accounting software, analyze data, and contribute to the financial reporting and control processes of the company.
- Handle daily accounting needs, including A/P, A/R, and job costing.
- Back up the accounting team, close the books, reconcile balance sheets, handle revenue recognition, and assist with financial reporting.
- Interface with almost every part of the company and be involved in various challenges and new construction projects.
- Take over monthly financial reporting needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with a subcontractor specializing in steel fabrication and erection.
- Strong understanding of construction industry financial practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in construction ERP software preferred (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Procore, etc.).
- Experience with job costing.
- Desire for broad exposure to all facets of the company and a willingness to take on diverse challenges

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
