Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Insertion / PEM Machine Operator to join a well-established precision metal fabrication team in Blaine, Minnesota.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can do more than simply operate a machine. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating Haeger, PEM, or similar hardware-insertion equipment, reading blueprints, selecting the proper tooling and hardware, and independently running jobs from setup through completion.
Direct Haeger experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience operating and setting up comparable hardware-insertion equipment will also be considered.
What You'll Do
- Review job packets and prioritize work based on production needs and due dates
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Identify the correct hardware and tooling for each job
- Set up and operate hardware-insertion / PEM equipment
- Install nuts, studs, standoffs, and other hardware into sheet-metal components
- Prepare initial parts for inspection and continue production once approved
- Perform basic hardware rework or replacement when needed
- Handle and package finished parts carefully to prevent damage
- Assist with other fabrication equipment as needed
- Maintain quality and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 2+ years of hardware insertion, PEM, Haeger, or similar machine experience
- Machine setup experience is essential
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience selecting tooling and setting up production jobs
- Sheet-metal or metal-fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple jobs
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
- Willingness to work required overtime when production demands it
- Ability to safely handle larger parts with equipment assistance when necessary
Schedule
Weekday first shift. The standard schedule is typically Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with some flexibility around start times. Overtime is generally worked on Fridays when needed, and candidates must be willing to work up to 50 hours per week.
